The Challenge

Traffic Going to Waste

Heavy traffic investment and weak conversion exposed a fundamental problem with the e-commerce product pages.

01

The Traffic Black Hole

Significant paid traffic from search and display campaigns reached the product pages, but conversion remained flat. Users left soon after arriving, dragging down advertising ROI.

02

Information Overload

The pages were crowded and poorly structured, with no clear articulation of the key benefits. Users had to scroll through more than 10 screens to find the essentials, at odds with the quick decisions typical of e-commerce.

03

Platform Constraints

The pages had to comply with Tmall and JD.com’s visual guidelines, leaving limited room to differentiate the brand or improve the experience.

The Insight

The Five-Second Rule

Heatmaps and session recordings revealed the pivotal moments in the browsing behavior of thousands of users.

5Seconds

The Critical Decision Window

More than 50% of users decide on the first screen whether to keep scrolling or leave.

The First Screen Makes or Breaks It

The first screen must establish the brand, communicate the core benefit and offer a clear path to purchase. More than 50% of users decide there whether to stay or leave.

The Fatigue Point

By the fifth screen, lengthy product specifications and certifications create visual and cognitive fatigue. This is where bounce rates peak.

Bring Trust Signals Forward

The purchase journey moves from value to trust to action. Customer reviews and third-party endorsements belong alongside the product benefits.

The Opportunity

Treat the product page as“a high-performing information flow”Design then guides attention through a clear visual logic, putting the information users need to buy in front of them within five seconds.

Core strategy

Digital Strategy and the Qingmei Future Advantage

  • Three elegant, minimal animations
  • Distill three core benefits
  • A prominent “Add to Cart” CTA
Strategy 02

Guide the Visual Journey

Redesign the browsing path

  • A clear, modular information architecture
  • A consistent system of color blocks and icons
  • Make essential information easy to find
Strategy 03

Build Trust Earlier

Bring brand value into view sooner

  • Minimal infographics highlighting design awards
  • A curated selection of customer reviews
  • Place them on the high-impact third screen

The Qingmei Future Advantage: Aesthetic Design × Conversion Psychology

Where Aesthetics Meet Conversion

01

High-Impact Visual Layouts

Generous white space, modular layouts and a minimal visual system. High-quality renders and lifestyle imagery help users picture the product in context and recognize its value.

02

CTA Button Optimization

A/B testing of button color, animation and copy. Saturated brand colors and a ripple-on-click effect were paired with more compelling language such as “Make It Yours.”

03

Layered Information Design

Parallax scrolling and other web techniques present key messages in layers, adding visual interest and reducing user fatigue.

04

Mobile Optimization

Every module is sized, spaced and typeset for clear legibility on mobile and designed for one-handed use, elevating the mobile shopping experience.

Execution Process

From Design to Data Validation

An iterative optimization process driven by A/B testing

Step 01

Above-the-Fold Design

We focused on five core elements: brand logo, core product value, high-definition motion imagery, price and CTA button, placing the most important information exactly where the eye lands first.

Step 02

Key Selling Points

We turned long blocks of copy into infographics and lifestyle imagery, so users grasp each selling point in a three-second scan. Visual language replaces written explanation.

Step 03

Mobile Adaptation

Sizing, spacing and typography were optimized for mobile and one-handed use, ensuring information is communicated just as efficiently on small screens.

Step 04

A/B Testing

We compared CVR and bounce rate between the old and new product pages. Mobile bounce rate on the new version fell by 22%, validating the design strategy.

Step 05

Continuous Optimization

Guided by heatmap data, we refined the product dimensions module, adding scale comparisons with people and furniture to further lower the barrier to purchase.
