Read the Trends
Read the landscape and understand the forces shaping China and the world
Clear self-awareness, an open global perspective, a keen sense of risk and the foresight to see beyond the immediate. In a world undergoing profound change, entrepreneurs need a higher vantage point. Only by "viewing Earth from the Moon" can they find direction as multiple disruptive forces converge.
Grasp the Principles
Draw on China's rich tradition of management philosophy
Develop new approaches to business that reflect the realities and distinctive needs of Chinese enterprises, enabling them to integrate resources worldwide and succeed in global markets. This goes beyond simply adopting ideas from elsewhere: it means finding a path for Chinese businesses grounded in a deep understanding of both Chinese and Western cultures.
Refine the Practice
Learn from the past and develop a deep understanding of Chinese and Western cultures
Learn openly from advanced Western management practices, then build on them through innovation—adapting global knowledge to China's needs and applying ancient wisdom to today's challenges. CKGSB teaches management tools and methods while encouraging innovation rooted in cultural understanding and humanistic values.
Founding Purpose
"To support China's rise and national renewal
by developing world-class entrepreneurs and business leaders with a global perspective, a sense of responsibility,
a humanistic outlook and the ability to innovate."
— The Founding Purpose of CKGSB
Li Ka-shing's Vision
Established with full funding from the Li Ka Shing Foundation, CKGSB is a major expression of Li Ka-shing's commitment to giving back to society.
His vision:To help China develop globally competitive enterprises and entrepreneurs with a deep concern for humanity. This vision extends beyond business education to developing leaders who can compete globally and contribute to social progress.
Developing World-Class Business Leaders
CKGSB aims to develop world-class business leaders and emerging leadership talent for China and the Greater China region.
Its teaching and curriculum bring together Chinese and Western perspectives, combining innovation with practical application. Equal emphasis is placed on cultivating cultural depth and humanistic values. CKGSB wants its students to become wise leaders who progress from mastering techniques to understanding deeper principles, rather than serving solely as instruments of shareholder value.
Viewing Earth from the Moon
Dean Xiang Bing's Defining Philosophy
"We must innovate with the mindset and perspective of 'viewing Earth from the Moon'
and change the world through humanistic thinking."
A Global Perspective Beyond Geographic Boundaries
CKGSB challenges conventional thinking by taking emerging markets, including China, as a new vantage point. It also maintains a strong focus on how Chinese enterprises can integrate global resources to become more competitive.
This is about thinking globally as well as operating globally. It means approaching business from a broader perspective and considering corporate responsibility in the context of human civilization.
The Ability to Integrate Global Resources
In a globalized world, a company's competitiveness depends on its ability to integrate resources worldwide as well as those it owns. CKGSB equips students to allocate resources, organize production and develop markets across borders.
Cultural Confidence and Shared Global Values
Building connections with shared global values from a position of cultural confidence. Drawing on Eastern ideas such as the unity of humanity and nature and following the natural order to contribute Chinese perspectives to global sustainability.
Innovation That Leads
CKGSB has consistently been at the forefront of innovation in business education
An Executive Focus

It also established a dedicated Humanities Committee chaired by Professor Tu Weiming, a world-renowned scholar of New Confucianism.
Social Innovation
A Core Requirement
In 2018, CKGSB made social innovation a required component of its degree programs, redefining social responsibility and pioneering Social Responsibility 4.0.
Addressing three major global challenges: income and wealth inequality, declining social mobility and sustainability.
Faculty Governance. Academic Excellence.
CKGSB is China's first and only business school governed by its faculty. The vast majority of its 47 resident professors were recruited full-time from tenured distinguished chair, full professor and associate professor positions at institutions ranked among the world's top 15.
CKGSB competes for faculty with the world's top ten business schools, including Stanford, Harvard and Wharton. Its faculty-led governance model is essential to attracting and retaining world-class scholars.
A Humanistic Outlook
Cultural Depth Is Key to Future Success
"Technology is just one cog in the wheel.
Without a grounding in the humanities, we cannot navigate or lead the world.
