This project creates an international brand book system for China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) overseas initiatives. The design aims to demonstrate the group's comprehensive capabilities in nuclear energy engineering, energy development, and international cooperation through structured, internationalized visual language.
We adopt 'lines, structure, and information in international order' as the core concept, fusing technological rationality with visual aesthetics to construct a brand visual system aligned with global communication standards. The project comprehensively aligns with international publishing standards across information architecture, layout logic, typography systems, and infographic language, presenting CNNC's professional image as a world-class energy enterprise.
design challenge
As a state-level energy enterprise, CNNC's visual expression for overseas markets must simultaneously satisfy governmental authority, international reader accessibility, and corporate technological sophistication.
Primary challenges include: how to establish concise, readable visual structure within complex technical and engineering information; how to demonstrate international professional standards through graphic information and linear visual language; how to balance restraint and expression so the book achieves both technological precision and visual quality. The core challenge: reconstruct the global expression system of a national energy brand through internationalized design standards.
Strategy and philosophy
The project centers on the core design concept 'International Order · Structural Beauty.' We employ linearized and infographic visual systems to transform complex information into clear structural landscape: Structural logic: grid systems organize information with modular zoning and proportional layouts ensuring logical readability and visual balance; Infographic system: comprehensive adoption of international standardized infographic design language, using linear structures, proportional diagrams, process schematics, and other forms to translate technical content into visual language; Visual language: geometric lines and detail precision emphasize 'technological order'; transparent overlays and subtle gray layers express depth; Color strategy: deep blue as primary color symbolizing rationality and trust; metallic silver-gray and energy orange accents enhance brand power and recognition. Core concept: construct authority through lines, present international standards through infographics.
Design presentation
The project is built on the core design concept of “International Order · Structural Beauty.” A visual system of lines and diagrams translates complex information into a clear, structured picture. Structural logic: a grid system organizes information through modular zoning and proportional layouts, so content is logically readable and visually balanced. Diagram system: an international-standard infographic design language is applied throughout, using linear structures, proportional charts and process diagrams to turn technical content into visual language. Visual language: precise geometric lines and detailing convey a sense of “technological order,” while transparent overlays and light-gray layering create depth. Color strategy: deep blue serves as the primary color, symbolizing rationality and trust, accented with metallic silver-gray and energy orange to strengthen the brand's sense of power and recognizability. Core idea: authority built with lines, international standards expressed through diagrams.
Achievements and Impact
Since completion, the brochure has been widely used in international project exchanges and government-level exhibitions and has become CNNC's core image collateral for external audiences. Grounded in international publishing standards and the character of a national brand, the design presents the company with a higher level of professionalism and credibility in overseas markets. The project achieved a visual leap from “national engineering image” to “international energy brand.”
